I´m a spanish fan and I am absolutely astounded by your work. I buy by Previews the Process / Recess book, and I like it but i would like to see a compendium of your covers and works for the comic book world.
I hope to see you one day in Spain or to buy some of your original art but now the two things are out of my possibilities
Also I wolud like to see you paintings a whole comic book not only the cover
That´s all folks........I hope to see more of your work thought the net and your web page/blog
saniest -- thanks for the kind words; please write to DC and let them know you would want to see a compedium of my covers! mal -- I haven't seen the SKB-1000 pens in stores, but you should be able to find a good equivalent in the US. Look for 'fine' tipped ballpoint pens, since most are of 'medium' thickness.
I would buy the compedium in a heartbeat. Is there an email address we can write to? Thanks for the tip!
I'm also curious as to how much reference you use for these covers. The figures are so idiosyncratic that it doesn't seem like you use any at all. They're impressive either way!
Hey James, Great work! Your art is always so creative and you really think out your composition. I also like the way you combine different design elements to achieve different effects. Can't wait for more!
I'm not much of an artist myself, but this piece amongst James's other work is amazing...the subtle differences are portrayed so effectively. This really is talent!
Are you CRAZY! Your draftmanship is amazing! It definitely shows that you are classically trained and love to draw. Where do you get your inspiration? From life studies? Do you still keep a sketchbook?

A random question, James, the SKB-1000 ballpoint pens you mention in the book---are they available in the US? They seem to be taiwan distributed.

Mal - I had reference for the tank and the soldier, and the rest of the figures are from imagination.

Thanks, Shawn -- what I lack in draftsmanship I try to make up in composition.
